Newcastle International Airport is the most punctual airport in the UK for arriving and departing flights, according to figures released today by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The punctuality figures released today show that from July to September 2009 the on-time performance of Newcastle International’s charter and scheduled flights are at their highest ever levels. In addition, delays on charter flights are at one of their lowest levels in the airport’s history.
Over the summer months - the busiest time for the airport - 82 per cent of all charter flight arrivals and departures at Newcastle Airport operated on time; 8 per cent above the national average. In addition, scheduled flight punctuality was 6 per cent higher than the national average.
When delays did occur during this period, the length of delay was shorter for both scheduled and charter flights than the national average, with charter flight delays 8 minutes shorter than the UK’s average.

Through this commitment from our employees we are yet again continuing to keep our high punctuality standards, with both scheduled and charter flights operating well above the national average.”
