MANX2.COM launches twice-daily services to Isle of Man

Wednesday 11 November 2009

Manx2.com is to substantially increase the frequency of flights between Newcastle and the Isle of Man.

The decision comes less than three months after Manx2.com stepped in to rescue the route when the previous operator ceased its Isle of Man operations.

Noel Hayes, Chairman of Manx2.com, said: “During October the route was very successful for us, and we are confident enough in the demand we are now seeing for the Newcastle route to increase flights from four rotations a week to ten rotations next year.”

The extra services will include double daily services on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and the reintroduction of the summer Saturday service that was lost a few years ago.

Mr Hayes said: “I believe that our success is down to our lower fares, better flight times and great service. The Isle of Man has many long standing connections with Newcastle and our new schedule will help revitalise those important links.”

Chris Sanders, Head of Airline Development at Newcastle Airport, said: “It has only been a few months since Manx2.com first started, and we are delighted that they have had such success that they are now increasing flights, which will help boost trade between our region and the Isle of Man; we wish them continued success.”
